Round of 16

Last Monday there was the round of 16 draw, in Nyon Switzerland. These are the matches:

  • Bayern Leverkusen vs Atlético de Madrid: Atlético de Madrid the winer of Liga BBVA and last season and the first in group 1, has an attainable opponent: Bayern Leverkusen, the 2nd of Group 3.
  • Juventus vs Borussia Dortmund: these will probably be the best matches of the round, because Borussia Dortmund (second in Bundesliga last season) and Juventus (first in Serie A) are two big candidates to win the Champions League.
  • Arsenal vs Monaco: these can be two good matches. They aren't the best teams in the competition, but they have a similar level.
  • Schalke 04 vs Real Madrid: this is the rematch for Schalke 04, Real Madrid eliminated it in this round ,with 2:9 in the Global result. Real Madrid has won all matches in Champions League.
  • Basel vs Porto: Basel, the Switzerland team, has gated-crash between the 16 best teams of Europe, and will bring against the least difficult team.
  • Manchester City vs FC Barcelona: two big teams who brought last year. Barça passed last year, but were a good matches.This year will be also a good matches.
  • PSG vs Chelsea: they are two big teams, but Chelsea is probably better.
  • Shakhtar Donetsk vs Bayern München: Bayern is one of the best teams, but Luiz Adriano, the Shakhtar forward is the the top goal-scorer, with nine goals.
